  • HS 3005.90

We supply the operating theatre's requirements list, from reusable instruments to single-use consumables. This group covers sets for general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ENT and ophthalmic surgery; laparoscopic instruments, sutures and staplers; and surgical drapes and gowns.

For reusable surgical instruments, the quality of the stainless steel, the surface finish and the manufacturer's reprocessing (cleaning and sterilisation) instructions are decisive. For single-use products, we check the sterilisation method, sterile barrier packaging and expiry date. We match set lists item by item against catalogue numbers.

Transport and storage notes

Cartons of sterile products are stacked so they are not crushed, keeping the sterile barrier packaging intact.

Sutures and single-use packs are transported in dry conditions, away from excessive heat.

Questions about this group

Can you prepare a set list to our requirements?

Yes. If you share your specialty's set list or the contents of your current set, we match each item to a catalogue number and list any missing or equivalent items separately.

How do you verify the material quality of instruments?

We ask the manufacturer for the material certificate, declaration of conformity and quality management system certificate. On request, independent inspection or sample evaluation can be arranged before loading.

Can sterile and non-sterile products go in the same shipment?

Yes. However, cartons are marked separately, documents are listed separately and stacking is planned to protect the packaging integrity of sterile products.
