  • HS 3401.30

We supply the hygiene and care products that hospitals, care homes, pharmacies and retail chains use on a regular basis. This group covers baby diapers, adult incontinence and changing products, sanitary pads, hand and surface disinfectants, infant formula and baby care products.

Some of these products are regulated as medical devices, some as biocidal products and some as food or cosmetics. Which rules apply depends on the product and the destination country. For infant formula and disinfectants, we clarify the destination country's registration and labelling requirements before quoting; for bulky diapers, container fill and packaging strength.

Transport and storage notes

Alcohol-based disinfectants are declared as Class 3 flammable liquids and shipped in suitable packaging.

Infant formula is shipped in dry, cool conditions, with shelf life monitoring and under food product rules.

Questions about this group

Can you supply hygiene products under our own brand?

Many manufacturers produce under the buyer's brand. Once the packaging design, label content and the destination country's registration requirements have been settled on your side, we coordinate the process with the manufacturer.

Which documents are needed for infant formula?

Usually a certificate of analysis, an official health certificate, a certificate of origin and the registration documents required by the destination country's food authority. We draw up the document list together before ordering, based on the destination country's requirements.

Can disinfectants be sent by air cargo?

Yes, but alcohol-based products count as dangerous goods and are subject to quantity, packaging and declaration rules. For large orders, sea or road transport is often more suitable.
